Information for Parents

Parents and often extended family members are very welcome in school; we work together to help your children achieve their potential.  You will find the Head Teacher, Deputy Head Teachers and Learning Mentors on the playground at the start and end of each day and you can talk to class teachers at home time too.  Ofsted Inspectors reported the following: ‘Discussions with parents and the results of the school’s own surveys indicate that parents are pleased with the care and education provided.’

Apart from usual Parent Evenings three times a year and a written report, we encourage you to talk to your class teacher if you have any concerns.  We hope you will attend our regular Parent Workshops which explain our curriculum: the main events, the important vocabulary and what is magical and marvellous each subject. We will then continue with our INSPIRE Workshops where you'll be invited in to work with your children.

We hope you will be able to join with us in celebrations of your child’s achievements or in whole school events and festivals such as ‘The World’s Biggest Coffee Morning’ in support of MacMillan Cancer, Divali, Eid, Christmas and Vaisakhi amongst others.

We are a healthy school and provide fruit for all our KS1 pupils. We encourage all pupils and parents to drink plenty of water and have regular physical activity days or health days where children and parents have a sustained block of enjoyable exercise time.

We have access to a purposely built canteen where healthy school meals are provided. There is home made bread and a nutritious salad cart available each day for school meal pupils. We have packed lunch provision but we ask that these meals are nutritious also. The canteen staff work with the school and have organised special meal days where we may try different international cuisines. These are very popular with all pupils and staff and packed lunch children can purchase the meal if they so wish.

We believe children learn best when they are well supported at home and at school; we look forward to working with you to help your child achieve their potential.  Come and see us if you have any concerns.
