Information for Parents

Parents and often extended family members are very welcome in school. There is the daily opportunity to meet with the Headteacher, Deputy Headteacher or class teachers .

Ofsted Inspectors reported the following: ‘Discussions with parents and the results of the school’s own surveys indicate that parents are pleased with the care and education provided.’

Apart from usual Parent Evenings three times a year and a written report, class assemblies and ‘Well Done Assemblies’; parents are invited into school to work alongside their children in our INSPIRE workshops as well as to join with us in celebrations of their child’s achievements or in whole school events and festivals such as ‘The World’s Biggest Coffee Morning’ in support of MacMillan Cancer, Divali, Eid, Christmas and Vaisakhi amongst others.
We are a healthy school and provide fruit for all our KS1 pupils. We encourage all pupils and parents to drink plenty of water and have regular physical activity days or health days where children and parents have a sustained block of enjoyable exercise time.

We have access to a purposely built canteen where healthy school meals are provided. There is home made bread and a nutritious salad cart available each day for school meal pupils. We have packed lunch provision but we ask that these meals are nutritious also. The canteen staff work with the school and have organised special meal days where we may try different international cuisines. These are very popular with all pupils and staff and packed lunch children can purchase the meal if they so wish.

We have a wide range of support staff that provide the ‘wrap around care’ that your child deserves. Our Teaching Assistants are well trained and skilled to a high level to manage learning and behaviour. Ofsted Inspectors acknowledged that our Teaching Assistants make a valuable contribution to pupils’ learning.

‘Kidz Zone’ part of ‘Complete Kidz’ is the organisation which provides before and after school care. We also have access to services from a family support worker to support us in our drive to raise punctuality and attendance to at least 96% . All Ladywood schools refuse to authorise leave of absence in term time
